Watercolour classes at the Rocks

Monday  Evening Fortnightly, hours 6pm to 8.45 pm, Tutor: Josefia Lemon

Sunday: 2 consecutive  Sundays per term , hours 9.15 am to 3.30 pm. Tutor; Josefia Lemon

 

This class aims to simplify some of the fundamental techniques of painting with watercolours including washes, wet into wet and wet over dry techniques. Individual guidance and demonstrations will be given.

Beginners; learn basic handling and design. Advanced; study technique with still life, model and landscape.

Classes are held every second Monday  of term , ie   WEEKS 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10  of term.

Course overview

Below is a list of materials. Please contact us if you have any questions LIST OF MATERIALS FOR THE WATERCOLOUR WORKSHOP 3B pencil, kneadable rubber, watercolour palette with large enough mixing area compartments, 2 water containers , 1 roll toilet tissue, 1 old towel, 1 kitchen sponge COLOURS (Recommended Artists Quality): Cadmium Yellow, Alizarin Crimson Permanent, French Ultramarine Blue, Prussian Blue, Cobalt Blue, Cerulean Blue, Raw Sienna, Raw Umber, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Sepia, Viridian, Quinacridone Gold BRUSHES: Good quality eg. Squirrel brushes – 1 medium size, 1 smaller size and 1 synthetic liner (size 2 or 4) Note: Different brand has got different size number. PAPER: 300 gram watercolour paper, medium texture (cold pressed) or watercolour pad. Suggested brands: Saunders-Waterford or Arches.
