WATERCOLOUR COURSE
A Master Watercolourist conducts a special class at the Rocks Campus two Sundays each School term. This popular course, by a highly knowledgeable teacher, is recommended for beginners or advanced students alike, so it is advisable to book early.
Josefia, who is a member of The Australian Watercolour Institute, has won more than thirty awards for watercolours and oils.
She is a figure/portrait/landscape painter in oils and watercolour and has been teaching watercolour workshops at The Julian Ashton Art School since 2000.
OVERVIEW. This workshop aims to simplify some of the fundamental techniques of painting with watercolours including: washes, wet into wet and wet over dry techniques. Individual guidance and demonstrations will be given throughout the day. This workshop will explore “En plein Air” painting.

List of materials: 3B pencil, kneadable rubber, watercolour palette with large mixing area compartments, 2 water containers, 1 roll toilet tissue, one old towel,1 kitchen sponge.
Colours: (artist quality) Cadmium Yellow, Alizarin Crimson permanent, French Ultramarine Blue, Prussian Blue, Cobalt blue, Cerelean Blue, Raw Sienna, Raw Umber, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Sepia, Veridian.
Brushes: good quality eg. Squirrel brushes – 1 medium size, 1 smaller size and 1 synthetic liner ( size 1 or 2)
Paper: 2 full sheets, 300gram watercolour paper, medium texture (cold pressed) or watercolour pad. Suggested brands: Saunders-Waterford or Arches. Please cut into quarters.
