Exhibition Opening Night 2011

On Sunday, November 27th the Julian Ashton Art School celebrated the opening of its Annual Exhibition. Many were in attendance to admire the fine selection of works on display, showcasing the best of student and teacher works alike. The afternoon was opened by Dr. Timothy Pascoe AM.

Prizes were awarded to works of an exceptional standard, and scholarships were presented to the following students:
Sasha White, Sir William Dobell Scholarship;
Rosemary Kringas, Brett Whiteley Scholarship;
Janelle Thomas, John Olsen Scholarship;
Adam Giles, Portrait Artists Australia Scholarship;
Gus Carrozza, Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts Scholarship;
and Kathryn Tarowski, Thea Proctor Scholarship.

The exhibition will once more be hosted at the
Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts,
Level 1, 280 Pitt Street, Sydney.
The exhibition is open to the public from 12 – 2 pm daily,
from Monday, 28th November to Tuesday, 6th December.
Closed weekends.

Nude model Sketch Clubs

Exhibition Opening Night 2010

On Sunday, November 28th the Julian Ashton Art School celebrated the opening of its 120th Annual Exhibition. Attendance was very high as art-lovers mingled to view the beautiful works that adorned the walls of the Sydney Mechanics School of Arts. Proceedings were officially opened by Tom Keneally, who gave a delightful and entertaining speech.

Scholarships and prizes were awarded to the school’s current crop of talented students. An excellent time was had by all. Congratulations to everyone who participated and helped make another wonderful show.

Julian Ashton Art School smocks and aprons

Newly arrived at the school are artists’ smocks and aprons, perfect for protecting the clothes whilst still looking dapper. Modelled here by James Tucker, the design was created by Susan Delprat.

Smocks are $22, in coverall sizes XL and 3XL.

Aprons are $22.

Both are available for purchase at the Rocks Campus during normal office hours.
